Revitalization of Historic Eagle Cotton Mill Planned for Southeast Indiana

Riverton plans to invest more than $21 million to transform the Eagle Cotton Mill building into a new 80-room boutique hotel, with an initial commitment from Marriott Hotels. Additionally, the repurposed property will feature a conference center, guest amenities, restaurant and enhanced outdoor spaces with views of the Ohio River. With construction expected to be complete in summer 2020, this project highlights a continued investment in the city’s historic district, helping increase economic activity and create a better quality of place in the community.

Riverside Tower Lofts Receive Tax Credits; Clears Last Hurdle for Redevelopment

The City of Madison and Denton-Floyd Real Estate Group is pleased to announce that the Riverside Tower Lofts planned for the former “Tower Tack Factory” building at Cragmont and Second Streets have received Rental Housing Tax Credits from the State of Indiana Housing & Community Development Authority, which allows the first major project in Madison’s “Stellar Communities” project list to move forward as soon as next month.

Stellar Announces Open House

The Stellar city staff announced at the Oct. 16th City Council meeting about the upcoming open house for Crystal Beach Project Phase 1. This open house will take place on Oct. 26th from 4pm-6pm in City Hall.

The City of Madison is excited to announce that the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority (IHCDA) has reviewed their application for the Madison Stellar Owner-Occupied Rehab program and has awarded the full amount requested, $250,000.00, in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds for the project.

Today, the City of Madison was named a finalist for the Indiana Stellar Communities Designation by the Lieutenant Governor Suzanne Crouch and the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs. The other two finalist communities in “Division 1” are Greensburg and Vincennes.
